George Quarcoo, a legally blind producer, is helping visually-impaired youth improve their production techniques.
Quarcoo has taught himself how to produce music at a young age. Now, at 24, he passes down his solid producing skills and knowledge to other aspiring blind producers. Working with hiphop studio Majur Musik, they will launch a program that will help visually-impaired youths to produce their own music.
The youths, all involved with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), will have the chance to work with an audio engineer from the studio, specializing in R&B and hip-hop music, about once a month.
Quarcoo, who's also a Toronto-based DJ, will help mentor the youth. With the help of the CNIB and Majur Musik, he hopes to teach aspiring youth tips and tricks of the trade that took him years to learn.
The studio has locations in Markham, Scarborough and North York.
