NIH Math Model Predicts Effects of Diet and Physical Activity on Childhood Weight

National Institutes of Health researchers have established the accuracy of a mathematical model that predicts how weight and body fat respond to changes in diet and physical activity in children.
The model progressed from one developed at the NIH in 2011 to predict weight change in adults. The model for children looks into their unique physiology, including changes in body composition as they grow. The findings appear online in the recent issue of The Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology.
