NC Black Caucus Calls HHS to Get Food Stamp Delays to Recipients


The North Carolina Legislative Black Caucus urged the state Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to get people their food assistance quickly.

Some local recipients are seeing delays in receiving their money for groceries, which caused some families statewide to go without food stamps for days or weeks. State Department of Social Services director, Wayne Black, said that the state doesn't know when it will be able to get food stamp delays to stop.
