Most Uninsured Latinos May Qualify for Lower Cost Coverage If All states Expanded Medicaid

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released a new report documenting that 95 percent of uninsured Latinos may qualify for Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), or lower costs on coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace.

This would be likely if all states took advantage of opportunities to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. The report outlines uninsurance rates by state and offers several examples of what premiums might look like for Latinos.
