Talkspace to Expand Mental Health Therapy Through Texting

Talkspace, a startup that offers affordable anonymous mental health therapy through mobile texting and the Internet, has garnered $2.5 million in funds to expand its services.

The funding came from Spark Capital, a Boston-based venture capital firm, and Softbank Capital, the Japanese telecommunications provider's investment arm. The service will allow patients to text anonymously with a licensed therapist as many times as they want without the stigma and high costs associated with such therapies.
