Restaurant Workers Face Tremendous Child Care Challenges

A study by the Restaurant Opportunities Center United (ROC) entitled "The Third Shift", findings show that the high cost of child care, scarcity of child care assistance, and narrow access to care during non-working hours are some of the barriers to child care for many restaurant workers.

These barriers result into restaurant workers being frequently under- and unemployed. The ROC lists down suggestions in increasing access to child care and making it more affordable for restaurant workers.
