The General Electric Company is planning to donate 30 million dollars in "philanthropic commitments" into Boston and the state. While 25 million dollars will be donated to public schools within Boston, "career labs" will also be established, giving students the opportunity to access manufacturing technology in multiple ways.

An official announcement detailing GE's arrival in Boston will be held soon. Among those in attendance will be Mayor Martin J. Walsh, Gov. Charlie Baker and GE CEO Jeff Immelt.
