What if a women's domestic violence shelter wasn't just a place to escape abuse, but a community where women thrive in all aspects of their lives due to a program of comprehensive support? That's the goal of Gatehouse, a Christian-based community founded by Matt and Lisa Rose. Located on 61 sprawling acres in Grapevine, Texas, Gatehouse aims to not only get women back on their feet, but give them the confidence to do so.

The seed for the idea was planted by Lisa during a group she led that met in a local theater with the hope of helping their community. Lisa soon learned that many problems were deeply-rooted and would require extensive commitment. Thus, Gatehouse was born and has been growing ever since. "Members" (as they are called) can expect to receive practical help as well as healing on both a spiritual and emotional level.
