According to a study recently published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, state laws that support healthy school meal programs make teens eat more fruits and vegetables.
The study suggests that school-based policies can aid in lessening hurdles to healthy eating that some teens encounter at home. This is especially true since schools can make do for families who can’t afford or don’t have access to healthy foods.
