The Blue Ribbon Foundation of Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania has approved 11 grants totaling $77,525 in funding to regional nonprofit programs.
These programs focus on health education and child abuse prevention to help community partners offer services that at-risk populations may not have access to. The grants will go to programs in eight counties across northeastern and north central Pennsylvania.

Programs which help people achieve and maintain physical well-being through prevention, screening, evaluation and treatment and the provision of family planning, maternity and other services that relate to human reproduction.
Programs that provide information concerning the basic principles of healthful eating, food handling and preparation, and shopping skills. Includes programs on dietary choices such as vegetarianism.
