The Robert R. McCormick Foundation, in collaboration with the Chicago Tribune, awards $900,000 in funding through Chicago Tribune Charities, a McCormick Foundation Fund, to 16 local nonprofits.
The grants will help people break down unemployment barriers and make them more self-sufficient. The goal of the funding is to support programs geared towards helping people earn a sustainable income and make them become productive in their communities.
