Engineering Professor Earns National Science Foundation Grant

Professor of engineering and computer science, Andrei Shkel, has bagged a $300,000 National Science Foundation Early-concept Grants for Exploratory Research award.

The grants support early-stage research projects that include "radically different approaches" in applied research. To date, Shkel is developing a technology that can identify weak magnetic fields emitted by organs such as the brain or heart.
