Missouri Foundation for Health Awards $125,000 Grants to Address Childhood Obesity

The Missouri Foundation for Health has awarded $125,000 grant to 11 organizations around the state as part of its healthy communities program.

The foundation granted the Monett R-1 School District $125,000, potentially to reduce body mass index (BMI) of students from kindergarten through eighth grade by 5 percent over five years. Cox Monett Hospital has received a similar grant to focus on improving access to healthy food and physical activity in community settings for children after school hours.
