The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is looking for two men suspected of robbing a convenience store at gunpoint on New Year's Eve, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
According to a sheriff's department press release, deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at a gas station in Bankers Hill and found the suspectsa man and a woman, both in their 20srunning from the store with a gun.
The suspects allegedly pointed the gun at deputies, who opened fire when they refused to stop.
One of the suspects was wearing body armor, and the other was wearing a bulletproof vest.
Deputies say they found more than 20 rounds of ammunition in the men's vehicle.
The men are currently being held at the San Diego County Jail.
