Best Buy Founder'S Foundation Gives Historic Gift to Nch Healthcare System

Best Buy founder Dick Schulze has donated $20 million to help build a new heart and stroke center in Naples, Fla., the Naples Daily News reports.

Schulze, who moved to the area from Minneapolis more than 15 years ago, says his father had a stroke and put him on a "watch list."

The hospital's current heart center is located inside a hospital and performs about 450 open-heart procedures a year, he says.

"It will be the best of class right here in Naples," Schulze says.

Hospital officials say the new center will be state of the art and patients will no longer feel a need to travel out of town for cardiac care.

The hospital system has received two earlier gifts of $20 million each for the heart and stroke project.
