Monday is World Environment Day, and the UN is using it to call attention to the problem of plastic pollution.
In Brussels, for example, the city hall will be lit up in green in honor of the day.
Smurfs will also be on hand to watch over the city's iconic City Hall from 9:30pm to 9:45pm, per the UN's Environment Program.
"The Smurfs are advocates of inter-Millions actions to avoid waste entering our waterways and are protagonists of the global movement to solve the plastic pollution crisis," UNEP's executive director, Inger Andersen, said in a statement, per the AP.
The campaign is hashtagged #BeatPlasticPollution.
