For the third year in a row, the University of Missouri's Tiger Institute for Health Innovation has won an award from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.
This time, it won the 2023 Davies Award of Excellence, given to organizations that use information technology "to substantially improve clinical care delivery, patient outcomes, and population health around the world," per a press release.
The Tiger Institute, a private-public partnership between the university and Oracle Cerner, has been using Oracle's health IT platform for a decade.
"This award recognizes our health care professionals that are turning data into action to drive improvement in the delivery of care," says Thomas Selva, chief medical information officer at the university's MU Health Care.
MU Health Care is one of only four organizations to win the award a third time.
