The city of Santa Monica, Calif., is in danger of running out of money to fund public art projects, the Los Angeles Times reports.

According to the Santa Monica City Council's website, the city's annual budget for the arts is just shy of $2 million, and the Santa Monica Arts Commission hasn't been able to come up with enough money for major projects in recent years.

In fact, the city's last major public art project was a 10-foot-by-15-foot installation by a homeless man that was supposed to be installed in front of the Santa Monica Police Department's headquarters in May.

Now the city is in danger of running out of money for similar projects, the Times reports.
