Governor'S School for Entrepreneurs Launches New Application Portal

For the first time in its 10-year history, Kentucky's Governor's School for Entrepreneurs will be sending its summer program to two different universities.

Thomas More University and the University of Kentucky will each host one three-week session in 2024 for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders interested in entrepreneurship, the Lexington Herald-Leader reports.

"We can't wait for our students to experience the exceptional opportunities and environments at Thomas More University and the University of Kentucky," Anne Jewell, president and CEO of GSE, says in a press release.

The three-week program teaches students how to take an idea and turn it into a product or service and then pitch it to a panel of judges.

"It teaches them how to work with a team and gives them opportunities to learn from successful business people and fellow participants while getting a taste of living on a university campus," says Jewell.

The program is free, and applicants must be at least 16 years old.
