"By spotlighting these exceptional individuals, we celebrate the vibrant and influential voices that Black culture shifters bring to various industries," says an HBO exec in a statement on behalf of the network and Max, a company that's partnering with New York City's Creative Collective to honor the "next generation of incredible Black creatives and leaders."
The 2024 cohort was revealed Tuesday, and it includes Gen Z'ers such as Nandi Wawau and Kahlil Greene, as well as those in tech, art, entertainment, fashion, and social goods.
"These creatives have emerged as powerful forces, making incredible cultural and societal impact," says Jackie Gagne of HBO.
The Creative Collective, founded by Imani Ellis in 2017, is "on a mission to platform pioneering Black creatives and celebrate their countless contributions and lasting impact," Ellis says in a press release.
