Jon Bon Jovi was named the 2024 MusiCares Person of the Year at a gala in Los Angeles Friday night, and in his acceptance speech, he paid a heartfelt tribute to a friend who recently died.
"I want to thank my friend and my mentor Bruce Springsteen," Bon Jovi said, per People.
"When I first got the news, he was already on the airplane on his way here.
He wanted to be here tonight for me, and I'm forever grateful to you."
Springsteen performed "Livin' on a Prayer," as Bon Jovi sang "You Give Love a Bad Name."
Other performers at the star-studded event included Shania Twain and Lainey Wilson.
