New Text-To-Video Ai Model Sora Will Unleash Creative Potential but Requires 'Extreme Accountability'


A company called OpenAI has just released a text-to-video model that it says can "generate complex scenes with multiple characters, specific types of motion, and accurate details of the subject and background."

That's right, it can create hyperrealistic videos like the one in this video that shows a person rolling over in bed, Fox News reports.

Sora, as its name suggests, is a text-to-video model that's been built on top of an AI system called ChatGPT, which was released in November.

Sora "is incredible as a next step in generative AI," Phil Siegel, founder of the Center for Advanced Preparedness and Threat Response, tells Fox.

"I think it will prove helpful for creatives, but will struggle to match the hype."

But Siegel says there are also "a lot of negative uses" for Sora, such as creating demonstrations of products or health procedures.

"Anything that makes us more productive, I think, is a good thing," he says.

"But anything that makes us less productive, I don't think is a good thing."
