Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker has pledged $2.5 million to give 25 grants to Arizona nonprofits over the next five years, and he's just announced the recipients.
Two Phoenix parks, including Central Park and Palomino Park, will each receive funds to renovate a basketball court featuring a Devin Booker Starting Five mural painted by local artists, reports the Arizona Republic.
Boys and Girls Club of the Valley, Ed Robson Family Branch, will receive a grant to build an esports room with video games and technology.
Child Crisis Arizona, Neighborhood Ministries, and the Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation will each receive a grant to develop a learning center.
"Devin is passionate about giving back to the Phoenix community and his Starting Five program demonstrates his commitment to support nonprofits here in Arizona and continues to make a difference in the lives of thousands of children and families throughout the Valley," says Sarah Krahenbuhl, executive director of the Suns' foundation.
