A Texas-born MBA with an interest in the natural environment has founded an eco-friendly toothpaste and hand soap company that's shipping in bottles instead of tubes.

Canary Clean Products' products don't contain chemicals or toxins, founder Luke Wilson explains to the Motley Fool.

Instead, they come in solid form, so you chew the tablets and mix the toothpaste to create foam in your mouth.

refill tablets are stored in a glass jar, and hand soap is packaged in reusable bottles.

Wilson, who worked as a marketing executive for The Gap and Banana Republic, says he came up with the idea for Canary Clean Products after noticing how much plastic plastic is used in personal care products.

Only 5% of plastic in the US is recycled, he says, and the rest ends up in landfills or as litter.

So far, the company's products are flying off the shelves.
