Albemarle County Moves Forward With Employee Housing Program

The pilot program would provide down payment assistance for full-time regular county employees to purchase a home in Albemarle County.

It would be in the form of a $20,000 loan secured with a lien, forgivable after five years of continuous employment with the county.

The vote was 5-0 with all present members voting to publicly notice an ordinance to implement the program.
