Account Manager

This role will be focused on growing and renewing our ScientificSolutions to our non profit, medical and government markets. We serve researchers, research managers, government policy makers and research publishers, hospitals, and institutes. Our solutions and services enable scientific discovery, publication, the analysis and management of research using discovery tools including EndNote, Web of Science, InCites, and Converis and custom solutions.

Growth will come from a focus on driving our solutions to researchers, department heads and administration ensuring our resources help them with strategic planning, research, competitive intelligence and analytics and data they need to manage their workflows. Products lines and information solutions include web based workflow tools to assist the research, management, analysis and benchmarking process. Enterprise sales also include customizable analytics, content management, and decision support solutions. Content includes journal literature, patent, and standards information.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Achievement of exceeding sales & retention goals through account development and building strategic relationships with an assigned group of government & nonprofit markets
  • Responsible for territory planning and executing both strategic and tactical approaches for achieving target.
  • Maintaining existing subscription revenue base; responsibilities include managing the renewal and invoicing processes related to your account base.
  • Coordinate, manage and maintain activities with any essential Clarivate Analytics staff needed to achieve annual net new & retention goals.
  • Must develop and maintain an advanced knowledge of Clarivate Analytics products & services and promote these products through Face to Face site visits (approximate 40% of time spent in front of customer base), phone calls and e-mails.
  • Consistent reporting of all customer meetings and site-visits as well as the completion of continuous communication with sales management.
  • Develop and maintain accurate customer information in Generate accurate sales forecasts and performance reporting for senior management.
  • Represent Clarivate Analytics at trade shows and conferences.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • College degree required- master?s degree preferred
  • At least 4 Years of proven sales success with industry experience (Government, & Higher education or non profit experience with the library and research a plus)
  • Experience selling to government agencies and non profit organizations
  • Excellent account management, time management, strategic planning and negotiation skills. Advanced ability to cultivate long-term sales relationships as well as developing new business
  • Ability to manage complex, long term sales processes
  • Outstanding inter-personal, communication leadership and presentation skills required.
  • Ambitious self-starter with high energy and motivation
  • Strong Knowledge of PC based computer applications including Microsoft office products.

  • Ability to travel throughout territory, which may include parts of the United States
  • Position is based in Philadelphia, PA but those living within the territory may also be considered (Wash DC Market preferred). Will also consider highly qualified candidates in other East Coast Markets.
