The U.S. Forest Service, a U.S. Department of Agriculture agency that deals with public lands in national forests and grasslands, harbors support from volunteer organizations for its several forest management projects.
The volunteers will get to don uniforms similar to those worn by Forest Service rangers, but visibly state that they are volunteers. According to executive director Marcia Johnson, the main focus of these volunteers is public education.
