Social Enterprise Provides Jobs to Ex-Offenders, Plans to Raise £3 Million with Bond

Bristol Together, a partnership of social enterprises founded by Paul Harrod, plans to raise £3m by means of a bond to develop its business model in the midlands.

The partnership creates full-time jobs for ex-offenders. It plans to sell the bond at a profit and buy more properties to renovate. Harrod will create a new community interest company called Midlands Together.

Hexham Social Enterprise Launches Workshop to Provide Training for the Unemployed

A Gilesgate-based shop and community facility, Hexham’s Core Music, launches a separate workshop where up to six people will be trained how to repair guitars and make ukuleles. The European Social Fund grant supported the project and has secured funds through the County Durham Communication Foundation to equip the workshop in Burn Lane.
