Senate Appropriations Bill to Provide Funds to Low-Income and Disadvantaged Students


The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (LHHS) recently passed an appropriations bill.

The bill will provide continued funds to support low-income and disadvantaged students get into post-secondary education and get jobs to further their career choices. But, the bill does not consider restoring the eligibility cuts made in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2012, which included removing financial aid to students without a high school diploma.
