USD, Civil Society Work Together to Bring Awareness to Human Trafficking


The University of South Dakota and Civil Society join forces to spread awareness about human trafficking.

The two groups held a forum that assemble law enforcement officials, social service workers and health care providers to discuss the human trafficking and how to help its victims. According to Civil Society Executive Director Linda Miller, human trafficking victims should be treated as victims and should be treated as people who have suffered post-traumatic stress disorder.

The Larder Cook School in West Lothian is a social enterprise that trains young people for a career in the food business. Recently, the school has launched a crowdfunder to help it teach another 80 students a year.
