Hunger Watch in Shelby County


According to Shelby County Human Services, food insecurity has tripled in recent years.

Shelby County Human Services continues to work in providing food with other community organizations that aren't government funded. One hunger effort, the Community Action Program agency, feeds thousands of individuals and families every month. Shelbyville Mayor Tom DeBaun said in a statement, "We need to create a situation where people can become self-sufficient, not just a kitchen."
