Summer Community Program Makes Impact on Physician Access in Rural Areas


In a study by the University of Missouri School of Medicine, the Summer Community Program offered by the institution creates a positive impact on physician access in rural communities.

The Summer Community Program is part of the MU School of Medicine's Rural Track Pipeline Program. It offers students clinical training for up to four to eight weeks in a rural area during summers between their first two years of medical school. The program accepts 20 to 30 participants each year.
