New Initiatives to Increase New Yorker Access to Healthy Farm-Fresh Produce


Two food and nutrition programs are being announced to increase New Yorkers' access to farmers markets' produce and foster healthy eating.

The Fruit and Vegetable Prescription Program is being picked up in New York City in a pilot program at Lincoln Medical Center in the Bronx and Harlem Hospital Center in Manhattan. The program, tagged "Come See What's Cookin', Kids", also tackles food-based nutrition education to children at four city farmers markets.
