Cigarette Taxation Shrinks Alcohol Consumption among Vulnerable Populations

A new study to be published in the January 2014 issue of Alcoholism: Clinical & Experimental Research states that cigarette taxation is one of the most useful policies to cut down smoking.

Through the cigarette tax-hike, increased cigarette prices discourage smokers to buy, prevent non-smokers from starting to smoke in the first place, and trim down use of cigarettes or quit smoking altogether.
