Older Americans More Likely To Delay Purchasing Obamacare Coverage

Older consumers who are not yet entitled to get Medicare are more likely to pay the 2014 penalty rather than purchase health coverage.

A new research from HealthPocket and Deft Research learned that younger Americans are more likely to buy insurance in the health insurance marketplaces starting in 2014 than their older counterparts. The research suggests that younger buyers will be lower income and, therefore, receive larger subsidies and benefits from lower age-based premiums than older consumers.
