A study recently published in the online edition of the journal Cerebral Cortex documents autism spectrum disorder (ASD) children seem to outgrow a social communication disability that clears up during adolescence.
Researchers at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University conducted the study with three methods: first test (audio), second test (video), and third test (audio and video). According to lead author John Foxe, Ph.D., the ability to integrate "heard" and "seen" speech signals is crucial to communicating effectively.
