Coalition for the Homeless Kick Starts Annual Back to School Project

Coalition for the Homeless is set for its sixth annual Project: Back to School, which has provided more than 10,000 backpacks crammed with school supplies to New York City's homeless children.

The Project: Back to School is a collaborative effort between the coalition and the United Federation of Teachers (UFT). To date, the coalition has already handed out over 3,500 backpacks to homeless kids in shelters around the city.

The Charities Aid Foundation has set up a scheme, called the Social Enterprise Assist, that will render interest-free loans of up to £10,000 each to help social enterprise start-ups.
