Affordable Care Act Saved Consumers $1.2 Billion on Health Insurance Premiums


The US Department of Health & Human Services reports that the healthcare reform law saved consumers $1.2 billion in 2012.

The health care law under the Affordable Care Act's "rate review" provision kept premiums lower for about 6.8 million consumers. The transparency will continue in the health insurance exchanges where Americans will be able to shop for plans that suit their needs.
