Affordable Care Act: Skid Row Homeless Still Gets Health Care

JWCH Institute Lead Community Outreach Worker Christopher Mack observes that regardless of the many homeless living in Skid Row will qualify for health insurance by the end of the year under requirements of the Affordable Care Act, finding a place to live, not health care, is these people's top priority.

It's difficult to provide health coverage to the most impoverished and vulnerable, even those who qualify for free or subsidized plans. Some of them say that simply trying to survive or find a roof over their heads takes first rank over caring for their own health.
