Beyond Enrollment: How a No-Strings Attached Financial Aid Helps Students Succeed


The latest report of National Bureau of Economic Research co-authored by Benjamin Castleman and Bridget Terry Long finds that students who are eligible for Florida Student Access Grant (FSAG) were not only more likely than their peers to enroll in a public four-year university, but also more likely to stay continuously enrolled in college, graduate within six years, and receive credits at a quicker pace.

These findings prove that rift between college costs and what low-income students can afford to pay on their own or with grant aid, remain one of the major barriers to college access and success.
