Regular Five-Meal Patterns Reduce Obesity Risk in Adolescents

A Finnish population-based study finds that eating five meals a day: breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks, reduces obesity risk among adolescents.

The results suggest that the regular five-meal pattern is connected with reduced risk of overweight and obesity in both sexes. The findings stress the importance of taking an early whole-family approach to childhood obesity prevention.
