Cancer Survivors Living in Rural Areas Pass Up on Health Care Due to Cost


In a study published in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention, a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research, older cancer survivors in rural areas opt to forgo medical and dental care because of costs.

The researchers gathered data that documents three outcomes: if the participants delayed or did not get medical care because of cost, if they could not afford prescription medicine, and if they could not afford dental care.
