Head Start is perhaps the most high-profile casualty among the anti-poverty programs and one where the lasting harm might be most severe, particularly hitting the neediest of families.

In a video, Kathryn Massie, director of Stafford County Head Start program worries about where the program's going to be in five years. According to Hannah Matthews, director of childcare and early education at the left-leaning Center for Law and Social Policy in Washington, sequestration cuts will only make it harder for Head Start to generate the results it was aiming for.
