200 Peninsulans Volunteer on MLK Day


About 200 Catholics, Mormons, Jews, Buddhists and Muslims from 15 different faith communities fanned out across the Peninsula on Monday as volunteers for the region's first Multifaith Day of Service in honor of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

The event, sponsored by the North Peninsula Multifaith Coalition, involved activities such as serving lunch for the homeless, painting cafeteria walls, and sorting children's books.
