Health Intervention in Low-Income, Rural US Communities is Possible

In a study published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, children usually don't eat enough fruits, vegetables and whole grains in the US.

The researchers implemented a two-year CHANGE study intervention study in low-income, rural areas where an immensely higher risk of overweight and obesity habits among children continues, which leads to heightened risk of diabetes and heart disease in adulthood.
