Disparity in Cognitive Ability between Poor Rural, Urban Children


Dartmouth College researchers found that kids in rural poverty score significantly lower on visual, but higher on verbal of working memory tests than their urban counterparts.

The Dartmouth research results can be viewed online in the Journal of Cognition and Development. It will be included in the journal's next print edition.
