A CLASP research brief focuses on explaining the gaps between mortgage lending for low- and moderate-income borrowers, as well as black and Hispanic borrowers.

The lessons gained by delving into the form of recovery can guide the policy response to market fluctuations in long run. However, these borrowers' race, ethnicity, and relative income status are not the contributors behind shifts in mortgage borrowing.
