Advocate of Homeless Students Receive National Recognition

Belton Independent School District staff members and several students have recognized the outstanding efforts of Noemi Berumen, director of Project Heartbeat, which serves the districtís homeless students.

Berumen, earns the spotlight as the 2013 Advocate of the Year by the National Association for the Education of Homeless Children. The award will be presented at the organizationís November meeting in Atlanta.
