Belton Independent School District staff members and several students have recognized the outstanding efforts of Noemi Berumen, director of Project Heartbeat, which serves the district’s homeless students.
Berumen, earns the spotlight as the 2013 Advocate of the Year by the National Association for the Education of Homeless Children. The award will be presented at the organization’s November meeting in Atlanta.
