A nonpartisan Washington research center, Good Jobs First, is critical about North Carolina's goal of privatizing economic development by next year.

Good Jobs First has rallied against states, including North Carolina, for years in an effort to cut patterns of abuse when states privatize what is an already corporate-dominated system, said Greg LeRoy, Good Jobs Firstís executive director.
